Prison Break‘s Chris Vance (Whistler!) has booked a multi-episode arc on the upcoming fifth season of Dexter, sources confirm to me exclusively.

The British thesp—who most recently headlined Fox’s short-lived shrink procedural Mental—will play Cole, a meticulous, physically fit, well-spoken personal aide to a famous businessman.

Vance, who is slated to appear in at least three episodes of Dexter, also recurred on the third season of Burn Notice as an antagonist to Jeffrey Donovan’s Michael.

Other Dexter season 5 guest stars include Julia Stiles, erstwhile RoboCop Peter Weller, and ex–Eli Stone attorney Jonny Lee Miller.

Michael C. Hall was on the set of Dexter in LA on Thursday, carrying a very cute little costar alongside his on-screen sister and real-life wife Jennifer Carpenter. In one scene, MCH was spotted carrying boxes marked "Harrison" out of the home Dexter shared with Rita, perhaps hinting that TV's favorite serial killer will be quite literally moving on after his wife's death. The actor recently shared a few hints about the show's upcoming September 26 premiere and promised that season five will be a tough one on his character. Dexter star Michael C. Hall walks hand-in-hand with his wife (and co-star) Jennifer Carpenter Sunday as they grab breakfast at the Mustard Seed Café in Los Angeles before stopping for groceries.

It’s been a tumultuous few weeks for the 38-year-old actor.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Hall recently revealed he’s been battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma, but has said his cancer is “treatable and curable.”

This past Saturday, Hall received a coveted SAG Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role as a sympathetic serial killer in Dexter. A week earlier, Hall walked away with a Golden Globe for the very same role.

At both award shows, Hall donned a fashionable black skull hat -- presumably to hide his hair loss.

After winning the SAG Award for Best Actor, Hall talked about the aftermath of revealing he has cancer, saying: "A lot of people have reached out to me that I wouldn't have heard from otherwise... high school teachers, friends from college. I've actually spent a lot of this week responding to concerned, but ultimately encouraging e-mails."

Hall’s spokesman, Craig Bankey, has said Hall’s cancer is in remission, but that the actor will continue scheduled treatments.
