NFL player sorry for complaining about "True Blood's" "barrage of homosexuality"

Unable to practice during training camp because of a foot injury, Eagles guard Todd Herremans has enjoyed extra time to contribute to his amusing Twitter account.

The Eagles, however, weren't too amused by one of his comments on Monday night.

"So.. caught up on Trueblood las nite.. Not a fan of how they get u hooked with the 1st 2 seasons then bring on a barrage of homosexuality," Herremans wrote. (He's clearly not that familiar with Trueblood creator Alan Ball's body of work.)

Herremans was referring to the HBO vampire show, and apparently ruffled some feathers in the front office.

"After speaking with Eagles management, I realize that my tweet earlier was insensitive and tasteless, and for this, I deeply apologize," Herremans wrote in a follow up on Tuesday. "It was not my intention to offend or hurt anyone."

Many of you will think the Eagles are being over-sensitive, but players shouldn't put something on Twitter that they wouldn't say into a microphone. And we doubt Herremans would say that at a press conference.

Following Herremans' apology and the Brandon McDonald brouhaha, we've started to wonder if more teams will soon adopt a No-Twitter rule once training camp starts.
