Kate Gosselin Lines Up Hairdo Makeover

Ready to change up her look once more, Kate Gosselin is scheduled to revamp her $7,000 hair extensions over the course of the week.
The former TLC reality star mom’s stylist, Ted Gibson, tells of the plans, “We’re taking them out and we’re not putting them back in until Thursday. So she’ll have short hair for a day.”
Continuing to dish on Miss Gosselin’s hairdo plans, Gibson says, “We’re actually doing three different shades of blonde, a caramel, a beige blond and a little bit of a lighter blonde.”
Making the change before she hits the “Dancing with the Stars” stage on March 22nd, Kate’s stylist adds, “The extensions will last through the whole time she’s on the show.”

Kate Gosselin Discovers 'Life'

Kate Gosselin and her dance partner Tony Dovolani attend the premiere of Discovery Channel’s Life at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Thursday (March 4) in New York City.
At the premiere, the 34-year-old reality star mom explained why she joined Dancing With The Stars. “I am all about new challenges, facing my fears - this is like the hugest fear ever because I have never ever danced in my life,” she said.
Kate also had high praise for her partner Tony Dovolani. “He’s a great teacher, because this is not analytical thinking, this is not books, this is not schedule planning, this is like all that other art stuff and he’s very good at explaining what I need to do.” she told ET.

Kate Gosselin: Ponytail Parent

Keeping on top of her motherly duties, Kate Gosselin was spotted arriving to the bus stop in Reading, Pennsylvania on Friday afternoon (January 22).
Picking up her brood of kiddies, the TLC reality mom showed off her ponytail look as she helped them all off of the bus - getting a little frustrated when she had to point to where the van was parked.
Quickly brightening up, Mama Gosselin then broke out a big smile as she gave the little ones a boost into their van seats.
The outing comes just a few days after Kate was shown smacking her son Collin’s face in various magazines, with the mother of eight currently not enjoying her anger management classes.

All the Details of Kate Gosselin’s 20-Hour Hair Makeover!

With her divorce to Jon finally behind her, Kate Gosselin started off 2010 by spending some serious quality time with a new guy — and their date lasted until the wee hours of the morning. Celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson, who has tended to the tresses of Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway, spent nearly 20 hours last week meticulously adding hundreds of extensions to Kate’s hair. Luckily, they both agree that their time together was a smashing success. “Kate was an absolute sweetheart, I loved her,” says Gibson, who also appears on the TLC show What Not To Wear. While he knew that transforming the look that launched a thousand Halloween wigs would be a challenge, Gibson reveals it was the super-short, spiky hair in the back of Kate’s notorious former hairstyle that proved most daunting. “Bonding extensions to those little hairs really took time. But in all those hours, she didn’t complain once. She was so open to whatever I suggested, and willing to try just about anything.” Well, with one notable exception: At first, Gibson reports, Kate was reluctant to let go of the thick, jaw-length shock of hair in the front of her face in favor of bangs. “She wasn’t sure about bangs,” says Gibson, “But I find many women have that one thing they’re afraid to let go of, that one ‘security blanket’ part of their look, whether it’s a fear of going shorter or darker or something. But once they finally let go and embrace the change, they always love it.” Indeed, Kate gave in on the bangs and was thrilled with the sleek, layered look Gibson achieved. “It’s good to have hair again,” she says. “I know this will be more upkeep than my old look, but I’m ready for it. I’m just grateful I don’t have to go through the awkward growing-out process of short hair. I get criticized for everything I do enough as it is!” To see more of Kate’s brand-new look — and to hear more about how her kids are doing, what she thinks of the latest Jon drama, and whether she’s ready for romance — pick up the new issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday.
