Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM, Stamos explained that the show Murphy wanted to cast him in was never made.

"Ryan wanted me to play a male hooker," he said. "I'll never forget, I was sitting in The Ivy [and he said,] 'I've got a show for you! Male hooker, and you have sex with the guys and girls and you fix their marriages!'"

Stamos, who has now landed a role in Murphy's show Glee, added: "Finally we get to work together. And so I think this one seems perfect."

Stamos also revealed that he is excited about the upcoming Britney Spears episode of Glee.

"I've seen the script, and it's really well-written," he said. "Ryan wrote it... If you're a Glee fan, this episode is one of the best I've seen."

Hollywood’s battle of the sexes seems to be working out well for the studios and their male- and female-focused movies. The testosterone-fueled Expendables bowed to an impressive $13 million Friday, which could translate to $35 million weekend win. And the Julia Roberts-starrer Eat Pray Love opened to a strong $8 million, a number that should jump up to about $25 million by weekend’s end.

The weekend’s other new wide release, the PG-13 Michael Cera-starrer Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, bowed to a disappointing $4.5 million and a likely fifth place in the rankings. Despite the Edgar Wright film’s strong presence at Comic-con and its popularity on Twitter, the hipster action-romance is unlikely to earn more than $11 million for the weekend.

Sony has just released four new clips from “Eat, Pray, Love”, opening Friday. In the first one, Liz (Julia Roberts) learns about “Dolce Far Niente” – The pleasure of doing nothing – from native Romans. In the second one she meets Felipe (Javier Bardem) at a bar in Bali after he almost ran her over. In the third one her landlord in Italy lays down a few ground rules. And in the fourth one, Liz has a bit of a meltdown letting her friend in on her plans to go to Italy.

Murphy dished to MTV News about Britney Spears' upcoming guest spot on the series and also spilled a couple clues about Javier Bardem's future appearance on the show.

"He wants to be a Spanish rock star, and I'm like, 'What about a janitor?' " laughed Murphy, who also said he wants Bardem to don that less-than-flattering bowl cut he sported in the Oscar-winning drama "No Country for Old Men."

He didn’t mention Modern Family by name but there’s no mistaking what show Glee creator Ryan Murphy was talking about Monday when he said: “I hate it on TV shows, and there’s one show that I won’t name right now, where it’s like ‘Why aren’t these character kissing? Don’t they have a child?’ That’s ridiculous to me. I don’t understand it.”

Modern Family has come under criticism because its gay couple, Cam and Mitchell [Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson], have yet to share an on-screen kiss while other couples on the show have.

Added Murphy: “If I did it on my show, I would just have them do it in every scene and not have a big deal about it. I don’t think that you have to announce a very special episode. Weren’t they doing it back on Roseanne? It is just so outdated and archaic to me and as a gay man, I would never do that. I would make it very organic and do it several times and not make it a stunt.”

Murphy’s remarks came while talking to reporters informally after a session at the TV Critics Association Press Tour and were in response to a question about an upcoming same-sex kiss on Glee for Santana (Naya Rivera) and Brittany (Heather Morris).
“I’m directing the episode where they’re going to kiss a couple of times. The key is to do it a couple times so it doesn’t seem forced.”
