Quentin Tarantino offers Helen Mirren medieval role
Dame Helen Mirren has reportedly been approached by Quentin Tarantino to appear in his next film project.
The Academy Award-winner has been asked to play a foul-mouthed monarch in the Inglourious Basterds director's upcoming medieval movie. The film is expected to contain "bloody violence" and will be set in England's Middle Ages.
A source told The Sun: "It will feature his trademarks - bloody violence and foul language. Helen has never worked with Tarantino and is interested. If the film goes into production it's likely she will play a part."
The 64-year-old actress, who played Queen Elizabeth II in the 2006 movie The Queen, has admitted that she would be interested in wearing a crown again for another part because portraying the monarch was one of her most satisfying roles.
Mirren added: "The Queen was such an individual, idiosyncratic film. It was one of a kind. You can't repeat that. People have asked, 'Is there going to be a sequel?' Yes, let's do the golden jubilee. That would be interesting."
