Taye Diggs Celebrates His Birthday – Three Weeks Late!
Have you ever been too busy to celebrate your big day? Yeah, well, that’s Taye’s story too!
Taye Diggs may have actually turned 39 on Jan. 2, but the star has been so busy filming Private Practice and being a first-time dad to four-month old Walker Nathaniel Diggs that he hasn’t had much time to himself.
Finally – three weeks after his actual birthday – Taye threw himself one hell of a belated bash at West Hollywood’s trendy SkyBar on Jan. 23.
The star kick-started his evening with a cozy dinner of lobster and BBQ chicken at the Mondrian Hotel’s Asia de Cuba with wife Idina Menzel , 38, and bestie Jay Harrington.
Taye officially started his year-before-40 celebration at 10:30 with pals like Stacy Keibler, Entourage’s Emmanuelle Chriqui, Cuba Gooding Jr., The Office’s Darryl Philbin and Practice cast members Chris Lowell and KaDee Strickland.
At midnight, his pals were on hand to sing happy birthday and wheel out a monstrous chocolate cake. The musically-minded Taye – who got his star on Broadway – orchestrated his friends song with his hands.
The star ended his big night as one should: he gave wife Idina a huge smooch and then got down and dirty to 50 Cent’s In Da Club.
We’re pretty sure we know how this particular party REALLY ended…but that’s Private.
