Liam Neeson is the next big hitter heading to Showtime's upcoming dramedy The Big C, starring Laura Linney and Oliver Platt.

Neeson joins Cynthia Nixon and Reid Scott, who have also signed on for the series. The story follows Cathy (Linney), a suburban mom diagnosed with cancer, who is trying to find the lighter side of her disease. This show will also mark a reunion between Linney and Neeson having both starred together in 2004's Kinsey and Love Actually in 2003 - perhaps that accounts for this rare TV appearance by Neeson.
